In Celebration

Hey!

( This is actually not Sherry writing, but one of her daughters ~ I hope it's not confusing )

Mom doesn't know about this post, but . . . . I just wanted y'all to know what a wonderful couple my parents were, and what a wonderful marriage they had. Today would've been their 31st wedding anniversary. And even though dad is no longer on earth to celebrate it with mom, it seemed like this day was still one to be remembered. It is still the anniversary of the day that God began a new family, through the marriage of a man named Tom and a girl named Sherry; none of my siblings or I would be here except for that day and that wedding. So today's still an important date for us to remember.

I am so grateful for the years God gave me to witness my parent's marriage. What a privilage to grow up watching such a godly couple in action! To see their steadfastness, their faithfulness, their commitment to one another -- their love and honor for one another. Quietly, contentedly, steadily they walked through life together. I couldn't ask for better parents.

And so this post is meant to honor my dad and mom for the last 30 -plus years of love and devotion to one another. To celebrate what God has done through them. Praise the Lord for this marriage, this couple, these parents.

Because of Him,
Emily
for all of the Lee children

  1. How sweet! I'm just loving your family right now and how Christ-centered you all seem to be. You all inspire me so much, as a young stay-at-home mother, your family is the type of Christian family I'm trying to exemplify as a parent. THANK YOU for sharing, especially during this difficult, tragic time as you mourn the death of you father. I am so happy to see that he was a strong, God loving man who will be waiting for you all in the eternal kingdom, and see you all again! What a blessed, happy ending God has given us as believers! In the meantime, I'm sorry for your (earthly) loss of a WONDERFUL man and father, and will pray for you.

Such a beautiful family, God surely smiles upon you!

  4. Awww..give her a big hug from this gal in Texas!I think there will be a lot of hard times ahead for your mom..but this day in particular will be hard.It is the day that we as women no longer are just us..we become a "we".And if I have your mom figured out...she loved being a "We"..she loved your dad and it showed in her writings..and yes even in front of their friends and children...their love was very evident.
What a blessings to have them set such a beautiful example of what marriage should be. You children were very lucky to have seen this and to understand this. You will have to teach the little ones with memory talks about your dad and his love for the family and your mom.

We are still praying for you all!
