Remembering "The Storm" and Tom's Homegoing, April 27

Today we remember "The Storm" which hit our state three years ago and left the landscape and many lives forever changed.  And as many of you know, that was also the day of our Tom's home going. ( The above picture was painted by a sweet friend and was given to us last week when we attended a dear friends wedding.  It's of Tom and our youngest son and brings back memories of how Tom was so often seen with a little one at his side.)  Thanks Abby!

We've shared remembrances of Tom today and enjoyed re-living precious memories of time spent with him in the valley, we've been blessed by the gifts of sweet cards, emails, a book about heaven, and the gifts of flowers, and we can hardly believe it's been three years already.  We also continue to be amazed by God's grace and mercies, and we are so thankful to be a part of His body. 

 We've also been thinking a lot about how very important family and friends are.  Life is brief, and material things pale in comparison to people and relationships.  During the difficult days of life, the Lord and those he allows us to live in relationship with are there. And as we've re-read your cards and emails from 2011, we want to thank you, once again, for being there for us.  So much has changed these past three years, but our God is the same and always faithful.  We are now settled and feel very much at home since relocating two years ago, and we are thankful.  God bless you all ~ Sherry  P.S.  Our prayers go out to those in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Iowa.
